Baked Apple Roses
Apple Roses are the perfect treat—beautiful, sweet, buttery and flaky. They’re also also surprisingly easy to prepare. You should be able to get your apple roses in the oven in about 20 minutes!
- 1 package puff pastry (room temperature)
- 3 apples
- 1/3 cup lemon
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup apricot preserves or cinnamon
Slice apples thinly and microwave until soft in a bowl of water – about 3 cups. Add lemon to reduce browning. Spread apricot preserves or cinnamon onto puff pastry. Pat apples dry and line spiced apples on each puff pastry strip with apple skin facing up. Fold puff pastry over bottom of lined apples. Roll from the corner and place into cupcake pen. Bake for 40 min at 375.
After microwaving, apples should be soft enough to bend without breaking. Soaking the apple slices in hot water while preparing the pastries keeps them malleable.
